After spending a month in Uganda with our youth team in 2007, a group of Abaana volunteers were inspired to use Football as a tool to help the children they met.
In November 07 they began a Football Shirt amnesty, asking local schools, clubs, and churches to donate the football shirts hidden at the bottom of their wardrobes. The aim was to deliver these shirts to street kids, and other children in Uganda, who loved football as much as Irish & British children, but would most likely never own a real football shirt.
After 5 months nearly 1600 football shirts and other sports wear is on its way to Uganda.
