No charity organisation can run without people. Abaana has a fantastic team of people – a board of trustees, a staff team and many volunteers. These people are at the heart of our organisation. They are passionately committed and dedicated to the vision of Abaana working to deliver life changing projects to those who need it most.

    Scott provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the work of Abaana in the UK and also serves as International Director on the Board of Abaana Uganda.
    Scott is driven by his passion for making genuine and lasting change to the lives of boys and girls living in poverty in Uganda.

    Assistant Director

    Neville Joined Abaana in 2013 and works across a range of Abaana’s programmes, with particular emphasis on staffing, corporate governance and finance.

    Fiona is the longest serving staff member of Abaana, having joined in 2004. As well as her role as PA to the CEO, she is responsible for a range of key areas across the organisation including Gift Aid, accounting and providing support to staff across all departments.

    Teams Coordinator

    Louise joined Abaana in 2015 and is responsible for leading all work in relation to the Abaana teams travelling to Uganda. This area of work has grown substantially – to the point where currently, on average, 8 teams a year travel out to Uganda to work across Abaana’s projects. Louise also has lead UK responsibility for New Life Homes and Abaana’s Street Reach programme.

    Child Sponsorship Coordinator

    William joined the Abaana team in 2016 and has lead responsibility for administering and developing Abaana’s Child Sponsorship scheme. This includes providing an on–going service to Abaana’s existing sponsors and encouraging new sponsors to join the scheme and provide access to education for so many more children.

    Andrew joined the Abaana staff team in 2017 and carries out a range of administrative functions which underpin the smooth running of the organisation.

    Originally from Ireland, though based in Uganda since 2011, Gill gives overall direction and leadership to Abaana Ministries Uganda, and is passionate about using her God given gifts and call to serve vulnerable children.

    Programme Manager

    Supports all Department Heads in delivery of program activities such as sponsorship, school construction, and rehabilitation of street boys, with a heart for seeing lives changed for the better and a strong passion for Christian discipleship.

    Esther Muloki

    Finance & Administration Manager

    Esther has been with Abaana since 2012 leading the accounting function and promoting excellent stewardship of resources through recording all financial transactions, keeping records and creating reports.


     

    David Ben Ochom

    Education and Sponsorship Manager

    With a big heart for children living in poverty, and boundless energy, David leads all activities related to building capacity in schools, and gives support to the sponsorship team in their activities.


     

    Susan Nassimbwa

    Sponsorship Coordinator

    With excellent organisational skills and over 10 years of experience in Abaana, Susan takes responsibility for overseeing letter writing, payment of fees, purchase of scholastic materials and all other activities for over 1,400 sponsored children.

    Sponsorship Assistant

    Hannah assists in supporting the sponsorship function particularly with responsibility for scholastic materials, giving of gifts, and other direct contact activities.

    Education Coordinator

    Helps the schools improve in their education delivery through helping monitor their financial spending, promoting Christian activities in all schools, problem solving and capacity building.

    Education and Sponsorship Coordinator – Northern

    Takes special responsibility for the 3 Abaana–supported schools in Amuru, helping in all areas such as sponsorship, school capacity building, coordinating all building activities, and being the point person for any community engagement.

    Andrew ensures cash is available as needed and provides adminstrative support to all areas to enhance the smooth running of the office (buying stationery, paying utilities etc.)

    New Life Homes Manager

    In charge of all areas of NLH, being the Homes Warden, Sarah is passionate about providing a safe, hygienic and welcoming place for boys to receive temporary care as part of their rehabilitation and resettlement back to families.

    Social Worker – Resettlement

    Leads activities related to reunification of boys back to their families and building up family structures.

    Social Worker – Residential Care

    Responsible for providing suitable care for the former street boys while residential at the NLH.

    Guesthouse Overseer

    With a strong hospitality gift, Fionah heads up the Guesthouse through providing meals, hosting teams and visitors and keeping the environment hygienic and welcoming.

    Guesthouse Assistant

    Grace assists in all areas of the Guesthouse, hosting teams and particularly being responsible for housekeeping and cleaning.

    Keeps the Gate as a safe and secure access point, as well as doing compound maintenance.

    Office Assistant / Cover Gaurd

    A former sponsored boy with heaps of enthusiasm for helping other children who are in need, Fahad helps to run errands as well as cover for the day guard in his absence.

    Cooks meals and keeps a hygienic environment while giving care to boys.

    Provides security to ensure a safe environment.

    New Life Homes Cover Staff

    Hellen, a former sposnored child with a Social Work degree, helps at the New Life Homes over weekends and when staff are absent, having great interest in seeing boys’ lives change for the better.
